Made in Steel 2019: an insight on the European steel market

Once again this year we attended Made in Steel, the most important event dedicated to the steel industry held at the Milan Rho trade fair centre in the month of May.

Beyond all expectations, this year the trade fair registered record numbers with a 12% increase in visitors and a 23% increase in foreign visitors, a sign that Italy still represents an attractive market on the international scenario.

For us it was a marvellous opportunity to introduce Sae Flex to potential European customers, and also exchange views with machine manufacturers and hydraulic system users, and during the days we spent at our stand we listened to the demands of our customers, addressed the problems that systems encounter on a daily basis and discussed forecasts of market trends.

The steel market and future investments

In addition to the exhibition halls, the Made in Steel trade fair has become a reference point over the years for all enterprises operating in the steel manufacturing and machining industries, so there were obviously meetings held on the hottest current topics in this sector.

The most important among the various interventions was certainly the “Steel Human” conference with Alessandro Banzato of Acciaierie Venete, Alessandro Trivillin of Danieli E Co. and Antonio Marcegaglia as the main speakers.

During their intervention some rather reassuring data emerged, despite the deceleration in orders, where the sector continues to record consistent turnovers and the overall decrease in work is fairly stable.

In addition, an investment in the iron and steel sector at a national level was announced, with funding of investments in machinery and equipment, and also training of human resources.

This news was excellent for the entire sector, and even more so for us of Sae Flex, where training represents one of the pillars of our company, and our consistent investment in Research & Development has accompanied us in our growth process, from 1993 through to today.
